One fine day Sawmya is abducted by some evildoers while returning from her office and the next day is found lying unconscious on a lonely road.

While the police accuse poor Sawmya of drug abuse, Bhavani Devi helps her gain justice for herself. Meanwhile, Babu and his family disown Sawmya, who then marries a journalist Manoj. Manoj’s family rejects Sawmya, but his sister Ahalya who is a smart independent lady accepts them. Eventually, Ahalya marries an average man Sundaram who is unable to fulfill Ahalya’s dreams of a happy married life. Frustrated Ahalya continues her education and in the meanwhile gets close to Sundaram’s elder brother Sukumar who has the same thoughts and dreams as Ahalya. Sukumar’s wife, Sulochana’s mother suddenly dies to force Sulochana’s only sister to come and stay with her.

One day she commits suicide in a suspicious way and Ahalya being quite a detective here, finds out from the dead girl’s diary that her husband Sundaram had spoiled that little child.
